Fishkill, N.Y.: Hats off to the Justice Department for enforcing a search warrant at Donald Trump’s castle at Mar-a-Lago! It was obvious that he broke the Presidential Records Act, but wow!

By the way, he also broke the Hatch Act by misusing government property for political purposes. Throw in breaking a federal election campaign law with his hush-money payoffs to two porn stars and possibly — no, probably — violating New York State and New York City tax laws. Did I forget anything? How about driving his own “coup bus” to destroy our Constitution on Jan. 6?

As to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s threat to Attorney General Merrick Garland: Kevin, your dream of becoming speaker of the House will be a disappointing nightmare for you. Elise Stefanik is already measuring the drapes for her new office should Republicans take the House in November. Kevin, Trump knows what you said and emailed about his insurrection and although you begged him for forgiveness, that will not stop him from seeking his revenge. Kevin, you should know that Trump is only loyal to those who can be witnesses against him in a criminal trial. Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn, Steve Bannon and Roger Stone all had stuff on Trump. They didn’t flip on him and were all rewarded.

So, Kevin, unless you have something incriminating against the mob boss, you can expect to keep your calendar open, too. You will just be another insignificant, gutless, sedition-enabling Republican congressman from who-knows-where in California. Nobody will care what you say or do! Even Fox News will ignore you. Sweet dreams. Gerald Browne

Bronx: If Donald Trump was not at Mar-a-Lago and the property was already secured by a Secret Service detail, then why did the FBI show up with 30 agents in tactical gear? Were they expecting a fight from the Secret Service? Of course, they were not. So why did they do it? Bill Reddan

Tappan, N.Y.: Watching the MAGA universe freaking out over the FBI raiding Mar-a-Lago looking for stolen classified documents is hilarious. The Orange Cult members scream that it’s political. No, it’s criminal! The sycophants claim it’s to keep him from running for president. I wish he would run so he can get his clock cleaned again — even with the new restrictive voting laws passed around the country. I’m just fearful of the potential fallout if that were to happen. Think Jan. 6 but worse. It’s best if the orange cancer is removed from the American body politic. This case, which he is already guilty of (the National Archives has already retrieved 15 boxes of documents, some of which were highly classified, which is why it was referred to the FBI), is the easiest and fastest way to do that. There’s plenty of time to convict him of his many other crimes. Matthew Giuliano

Milford, Conn.: To Voicer Stephen Johnson: No mention in your letter about why the FBI is not raiding Hunter Biden’s house or President Biden’s house — or are you one of the 37% that thinks Biden is doing a good job? I guess the laptop was disinformation. How do you get your letters published? Peter Sulzicki

Kearny, N.J.: A Trumpian poem: Donald Trump took classified White House files / Sent them to Mar-a-Lago in bigly piles / Set some on fire in a golden wastebasket / And buried some more in Ivana’s hollow casket — fore! Kevin Dale

Charlotte, N.C.: If the FBI was looking for Trump’s stash of voter fraud evidence, I’m sure they didn’t find any at Mar-a-Lago. Mike Lindell has it all. Every Republican knows that. Ron Turek

Ashburn, Va.: It’s revealing that Donald Trump wishes his generals had been as loyal to him as Adolf Hitler’s generals were to Hitler. First, he should consider that maybe it’s disturbing that he’s so comfortable comparing himself to Hitler. Second, he should re-read his history texts — assuming he ever read them in the first place — and learn that Hitler’s generals attempted to kill him at least 40 times. There’s a moral here: Be careful what you wish for. Mike Barrett

Forest Hills: To Voicer Gregory J. Topliff: Your characterization of Donald Trump as “a man who gave his all for our country and only got misery and suffering in return” is probably the most laughable comment I’ve ever seen in this newspaper. The only thing Trump did to this country is tear it apart. He exhibits absolutely no class, no moral conviction, no character, no honesty, no loyalty to those from whom he demands loyalty to him, no transparency and no interest in anything that doesn’t directly benefit him or his family business. If you think otherwise, you need to come out of your apparently drug-induced coma and take a look at who and what Trump truly represents. Linda Sperling

Brooklyn: To Voicers Gregory L. Topliff and JoAnn Lee Frank: Did you not take your meds from Nurse Ratched again this morning? Oh, you drank the orange Kool-Aid instead. Your anti-Democrat ranting proves that you are truly “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” Greg Ahl

Manhattan: Hopelessly devoted to the memory of Olivia Newton-John. Her sweetness and her angelic voice will endlessly live on. Phoebe Celentano

Manhattan: I am writing in response to Michael Gates’ op-ed about the removal of the Golden Gloves boxing tournament (”The News fights for the Golden Gloves,” Aug. 7). As a person living in NYC, I couldn’t agree more. The city has more than come back from COVID and things seem to be busier and more crowded than ever. It seems like a disservice to not bring back an event that was such a great platform for up-and-coming boxers to make a name for themselves. I know several young men and women who credit where they are today to the tournament. The person who they all speak reverently about is Brian Adams, who in his own right is a New York legend. Ellen Henry

Wayne, N.J.: It scares me that we are about to give billions of dollars to the MTA, an agency whose capital projects (Second Ave. subway, East Side Access/Grand Central Madison) have never been completed on time or close to budget. There has to be a better way. Michael Carlucci

Bronx: The building that Florind Belliu jumped from (”Actor in death plunge,” Aug. 8) is on Pelham Parkway at White Plains Road. That is the Pelham Parkway neighborhood, not Morris Park. The other day, you referred to a bus crash that happened in West Farms as happening in Allerton (”MTA bus slams into elevated subway pillar,” Aug. 5). How can you be New York’s hometown paper when you can’t even get the neighborhoods correct? Richie Nagan

Union, N.J.: The ice caps are melting. The oceans are rising. The lakes of the West are disappearing. California is in a perpetual drought/wildfire situation. Yet, in what is supposed to be one of the most technologically innovative, progressive-thinking countries in the world, we don’t seem to be working on desalinization projects! These would solve many of the problems. Our coasts (especially the West) should be dotted with these plants. Why aren’t they? Louis Alt

Brooklyn: Regarding the immigrants who Texas is busing to New York City: Is the city seizing the buses in order to sell them to help defray the costs of caring for these new residents? Ian Randal Strock

Brigantine, N.J.: Why has MLB allowed the Atlanta Braves to continue using a tomahawk logo? A tomahawk is a weapon and weapons breed violence. If you remember, TV and movie westerns always depicted Native American braves with tomahawks murdering and scalping settlers. So disrespectful. This logo has to go! Irene Webb
